Kate Kunath is an Emmy Award winning director and executive producer known for her documentary, non-fiction and branded works. 

Kunath was awarded a 2018 Primetime Emmy in the category of Outstanding Short Form Non-Fiction Series for  Anthony Bourdain: Explore Parts Unknown: Little Los Angeles, which she directed and executive produced. The series also won a James Beard Award, a Webby and an an Adweek ARC Award.

In 2017 she directed and produced, Anthony Bourdain: Explore Parts Unknown/ Catalunya, The Return, which won the 2018 People’s Voice Webby in travel and adventure as well as the PromaxBDA Gold Excellence award for a branded content campaign.

Kunath is a regular contributor to the Outwords Archive and Human Interest Films in Los Angeles and a frequent contributor to feature length documentary projects. Her first directed and produced feature length documentary We Came to Sweat, premiered at New Fest in New York and the British Film Institute Flare Festival in London in 2014. Kunath earned her MFA from Hunter College, NYC and currently lives in Los Angeles. Kate loves an adventure.
